Minor Injuries
We can deal with many minor injuries at the surgery. Please telephone the surgery to discuss before attending.
Major injuries are dealt with at the Accident and Emergency Unit, Ipswich Hospital, Heath Road, Ipswich, IP4 5PD. Telephone 01473 712233
Minor Surgery
We are able to carry out minor surgery procedures on site for both registered patients and patients registered at, and referred from, other surgeries. Procedures available include:
- Joint injections for all major and minor joints
- Steroid injections of muscles and tendons
- Soft tissue steroid injections
- Aspiration of joints, ganglions and cystic swellings
- Excisions and incisions of lipomas, fibromas, and pigmented skin lesions
- Incision and drainage of abscesses, cysts and lesions
All patients will be required to sign a Patient Consent Form before any procedure is carried out.

Child Health and Immunisations
All doctors are registered to undertake Child Health Surveillance for children registered with the practice.
Flu Vaccinations
Please contact the surgery on 01728 723627 to arrange your flu jab if you are eligible.
Eligible patients include:
- those 65 years or older
- age under 65 in a clinical risk group (chronic heart, kidney, liver, respiratory, or neurological disease, diabetes, immuno-suppression)
- pregnant women
- carers
- children aged 2 or 3 on 1st September 2013

Cervical Smears
All women aged 25 to 65 are strongly recommended to have a regular cervical smear. It is advised that first smears are performed at 25 years of age, then 3 yearly up to 49 and then 5 yearly from 50 to 64. Patients will be recalled automatically. Smears are performed by the Practice Nurses.
Smoking Cessation
We offer a comprehensive smoking cessation service with our Health Care Assistants. They will assess your needs and help you plan an appropriate program to aid you with stopping smoking.

Ante-natal
The local community midwife holds a weekly clinic – please book your first appointment with her at approximately your ninth week of pregnancy.
Physiotherapy
The local community physiotherapist holds a weekly clinic, or alternatively you can be seen at the clinic in Woodbridge.
Patients are able to self-refer here.
Wellbeing Suffolk
Wellbeing Suffolk is a service designed to enable people in Suffolk to experience improved emotional wellbeing and promote early recovery from emotional health problems e.g. low mood, stress, and anxiety. Wellbeing Suffolk counsellors offer appointments at the surgery every week.
Patients can self refer.

Condom Scheme
The Condom Scheme is available to young people 24 years or younger. Patients should speak to a nurse to register. They will be given a registration card, and from then on may collect free condoms from reception staff in the surgery, or any other outlet which is part of the C-Card Condom Scheme.
