Welcome to Framlingham Medical Practice
"Striving to deliver outstanding service every day"
To all our Patients
The Practice would like to say a huge thank you for all the kind words and support you have offered us during this difficult time. As we begin to try to reinstate services we ask for your continued support and patience.
We have just been informed by our flu supplier that our delivery of flu vaccine has been delayed by one to two weeks due to problems with road freight deliveries. Unfortunately this means we are unable to confirm dates for clinics until we have confirmation of delivery. We will set up clinics as soon as possible after delivery of the vaccines.
COVID VACCINATIONS AVAILABLE FOR 16 & 17 YEAR OLDS
COVID Vaccinations are now available for 16 and 17 year olds. These are available as walk in sessions at Gainsborough Sports Centre in Ipswich 9am-6pm Wednesday 18 August – Friday 20 August inclusive. Alternatively we will be contacting patients within the next 2 weeks to offer vaccinations at Sizewell Sports Club and Saxmundham Health Centre.
All appointments should be made over the phone with Reception who will book you in with the appropriate clinician. GP consultations are initially by telephone/video consult or alternatively you can complete an eConsult (no username or password needed) and the GP will then decide if you need to be seen face to face.
These measures serve to:
- Limit the risk of infecting patients coming to the surgery
- Protect our staff from infection, so they can continue to deliver vital services to patients
- Minimise the risk of inadvertently spreading COVID-19 to the wider community. If you are unable to make your appointment please let reception know and we can offer it to another patient
Repeat Prescription Ordering:
You can order a repeat prescription in one of the following ways:
- By posting your paper repeat prescription slip in one of our PRESCRIPTION POST BOXES, located outside the surgery main entrance and in the lobby.
- Via EMAIL at IESCCG.email@example.com or IESCCG.firstname.lastname@example.org, please include your name, date of birth and address
- ONLINE via the surgery website (SystmOnline). Speak to a member of our Reception team to register for this service. Please specify Earl Soham Delivery if you require delivery to this site.
- Using the NHS app (available on iOS or Android)
- We are unable to take repeat prescription orders over the phone
To use our online service to book appointments, order medication and access your coded medical record please click on the link below. Please note you must have registered with reception to use these services.
Call recording has been introduced for all incoming and outgoing calls. This will be a great assistance for monitoring the quality of calls and for training purposes.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
All patients at our surgery have a named GP (usual GP) who is responsible for a patient's overall care at the Practice. If you would like to know who your named GP is, please ask during your next consultation or at reception. This will not affect patients' care and you can see any member of the clinical team of your choice.
The named GP will take lead responsibility for the co-ordination of all services and ensure their delivery where required.
My Care Record
My Care Record enables health and care professionals to access information about you to improve your care.
Providing you with:
- Better co-ordinated and seamless care
- Quicker diagnosis and treatment
- Less paperwork and less repetition
- Fewer unnecessary clinical tests
- More accurate prescriptions
- More time to spend on clinical care
- Better health and care planning
Your GP, hospital, community health, mental health and social care teams may all hold records about your care separately. Often, only health and care professionals within the same organisation can see this information. This means it can be difficult for them to work together to deliver the best care.
My Care Record is an approach to improving care by joining up health and care information. Wherever possible, health and care professionals will be able to access your records from other services when it is needed for your care. This will make it easier and faster for them to make the best decisions. For example, a doctor treating you in hospital or a nurse working in the community could view the information they need from your GP record.
Several different secure computer systems are used across the region. These allow health and care professionals to digitally access your records held by other services. In some areas systems are already in place, in other areas more work is underway to invest in the technology needed.
The approach also provides an agreement between all the health and care organisations involved. This means they commit to sharing information in a secure way to help improve your care. The My Care Record approach is in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which provides the legal basis to share information between health and care services when it is needed to deliver care. All your information will be held securely.
Certain information – that doesn’t identify you – will also be used to help improve services and plan for the future. For example, it will help us plan for the number of doctors, nurses and care workers needed to look after you in the future.
More information, including answers to frequently asked questions and a list of the organisations that are taking part can be found at mycarerecord.org.uk.
